If you are visiting Cusco and and like the idea of escaping the hustle and bustle of the city for a day and venturing to some of the most stunning scenery in the Andes, look no further than our day trip to Humantay Lake + Salkantay mountain.
Lake Humantay is a high-altitude glacial lake 3 hours south of Cusco. You can visit this lake on a full day hike or as part of our 5-day Savage Trek to Machu Picchu.

PICKUP
4:30AM
Goooooood morning! The bright and early start time means we’ll be able to start hiking before the crowds. We will pick you up from your hotel and hit the road!
RIDE
3 AND 1/2 HOURS
Get comfortable, but don’t close your eyes. We’ll be in the car for 3.5 hours, but you won’t want to miss one bit of the scenery on the way to the trail head.
HIKE
3 HOURS
We’ll be with you every step of the way as you take this challenging hike straight uphill for about 3 hours to our destination. When we’re done enjoying the view and taking photos, we’ll return to the starting point.
RETURN
4 AND 1/2 HOURS
After your tough journey, we will have some lunch before getting back in the car and returning to Cusco with amazing new memories.
